If you’re like many people, you have boxes or albums full of old photographs and slides. How can you make digital copies of those pictures so they can be included in your finished legacy document? Here are a few suggestions:
- Work with a Celebrations of Life certified Legacy Facilitator in your area. Legacy Facilitators have the know-how and equipment to digitally scan your photographs.
- Take your photographs to a local office products or print shop. Many such stores offer photo digitizing services.
- Use a mail-order photo digitizing service, such as ScanCafe, ScanMyPhotos, or FotoBridge. (Note: Celebrations of Life has no relationship with these services and does not endorse them.)
- If you have a large number of photos to digitize and are inclined to do it yourself, you might purchase a scanner. A number of inexpensive hand-held scanners are on the market – for example, this one available from Amazon.
Using some of the above methods, you might end up with your digitized photos on a DVD. That’s okay – you can send us a DVD via postal mail if that is easier for you than email.
